the jelly bag price index
Every major jelly bag brand's list prices in one table, checked 8 August 2026. CC BY 4.0 — cite it, link it, correct it.
"How much is a jelly bag?" has a genuinely unhelpful answer — anywhere from a tenner to over £170 — because the category spans supermarket-tier PVC and Italian-made fashion totes without changing its name. So we priced the whole market: the table below is what each brand actually lists in 2026, on its own storefront, organised into the three tiers the category really trades in.
| Brand | What you get | List price | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplace generics (Amazon, Walmart) | PVC totes & purses, unbranded | ~$10–35 | Entry |
| Sun Jellies | Retro woven baskets & totes | ~$12–43 | Entry |
| jelli.world | PVC East West & bucket | £40–50 | Mid |
| Melissa (× Telfar) | Jelly shoppers, three sizes | $75–125 | Mid |
| jelli.world | TPU baguette, East West & bucket | £70–90 | Mid |
| Carmen Sol | Italian-made jelly totes & purses | ~$125–215 list | Premium |
| Dolce Vita | Jelly totes | ~$148–198 | Premium |
The three tiers, honestly described
Entry (~£10–40). Marketplace generics and retro baskets. Thin, soft PVC, usually stitched rather than welded, and the tier most prone to the classic jelly failures — stickiness, yellowing and creasing, typically within a season or two in the sun (our jelly bag problems guide covers why). Fine for occasional beach duty; poor cost per wear if carried daily. Sun Jellies is the standout here — honest retro design at honest prices.
Mid (~£40–100). Where material quality actually changes. Melissa's jelly shoppers bring the moulded Brazilian heritage; jelli.world's lines run £40 (PVC East West) to £90 (structured TPU bucket) — TPU being the firmer, UV-stable jelly that holds its shape and resists yellowing (the TPU vs PVC comparison is the honest version of that argument, including where PVC wins). Most of the category's cost-per-wear value sits in this band.
Premium (£100–170+). Carmen Sol and Dolce Vita price jelly as fashion: Italian manufacture, hardware, brand. The bags are good; whether the label is worth roughly double the mid tier is a taste decision, not a material one — the plastic itself stops getting meaningfully better above the mid band.
Methodology & caveats
List prices checked 8 August 2026 on each brand's own US or UK storefront (converted ranges are approximate; sale prices excluded because they churn weekly). Brands change prices — if you spot a stale figure, DM @jelli.world and we'll correct the table. All trademarks belong to their owners; jelli.world is not affiliated with any brand named here, and yes, we appear in our own table — at our everyday list prices, same as everyone else.
