The Case for PVC: Softer, Glossier, Bolder

Most of what we write about jelly is about TPU. PVC deserves its own page.

Most of what we write about jelly is about TPU. PVC deserves its own page.

PVC is polyvinyl chloride, one of the two plastics jelly bags are made from. It is softer than TPU, glossier and warmer to the touch. It is often used for saturated, glossy colours. Our PVC bags are priced below our TPU ones.

It is not the "lesser" option. It is a different one.

The feel. PVC is slightly supple. Press it and it gives a little. TPU feels firmer and springier.

The look. PVC colour is rich and saturated. At jelli.world it comes in strong shades and soft frosted pastels.

The price. Our PVC bucket bags cost less than the TPU ones.

The Magenta Jelly Bag shows why people choose it. It is a structured PVC bucket, 35 × 25 × 14 centimetres, in a bright pink turned all the way up. The colour is dense, the finish soft.

How to wear it in winter.

With navy. Magenta and navy is bold but grown-up.

With grey. Grey calms the pink down without dulling it.

With black. The strongest. Magenta looks almost electric.

It is also a good first jelly bag. If you aren't sure the look is for you, a PVC bag lets you try it in a colour you love.

One rule: bright bag, plain outfit. If the bag is magenta, nothing else needs to try.

Care is the same as for TPU. A soft cloth, lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap. Dry it properly. No alcohol, acetone or bleach. Keep it away from radiators and direct heat, which can soften plastics, and out of strong sun.

Both materials are plastic, and we say so plainly. Look after either and it will keep its shine.
