One Red Thing: Why a Red Fur Bag Moves an Outfit
Dress in dark colours, then add one red thing.

There is a rule stylists repeat every winter. Dress in dark colours, then add one red thing.
Usually it is a lipstick, a scarf, a shoe. This year it can be a bag that moves.
The Red Fluff bag is Mongolian lamb: long, curly wool still on the skin, dyed a clear, warm red. The curls sit loose. When you walk, the whole surface shifts a little. It is not a flat block of colour. It is colour with texture running through it.
The season is asking for exactly that. Vogue put it simply: "the feeling is soft". Its edit of autumn accessories ran from "swaying trims to plush bags". A red fur tote is both at once.
How to wear it without shouting.
Black, head to toe. A black coat, black trousers, black boots. The red bag is the outfit. Nothing else needs to work.
Navy. Red and navy is a classic. With fur, it looks less nautical and more grown-up.
Camel. The warmest version. Camel and red sit together like a fire in a stone room.
One rule: the red bag is the only red. No red shoes, no red scarf. Let it stand alone.
Real fur asks for a little care. Shake it out after carrying so the curls lift. Spot clean with a barely damp cloth. Untangle with your fingers, not a brush. Keep it out of heavy rain, and away from radiators, which dry the skin underneath.
The bag is 45 × 35 × 20 centimetres, with two slim handles long enough for the shoulder. It takes a day's things: gloves, a book, a scarf when it is warm enough to take it off.
It is also the easiest way to bring an old coat back to life.
Winter colour doesn't need to be loud. It just needs to be in one place.
