Texture After Dark: The Purple Fur Bag at Night
At night, colour fades first. Texture stays.

At night, colour fades first. Texture stays.
Walk into a dim room and you won't see a red dress straight away. You will see a velvet one. Surfaces carry further than shades when the light is low.
That is why evening dressing this winter has turned tactile. Vogue described accessories built so that outfits "move, shine, inspire". The clothes catch the light. The bag holds it.
The Purple Fluff bag is Mongolian lamb in a deep, rich violet: long, curly wool on the skin it grew on. In daylight it is a colour. Under a lamp it is a shape made of curls, each one catching a little light.
How to wear it at night.
With black satin. The classic. Smooth, dark and glossy against soft, deep and matte. The bag looks almost alive.
With a tuxedo jacket. Black wool, sharp shoulders, a white shirt. The fur takes the edge off the tailoring.
With silver. One silver earring or a thin bracelet. Purple and silver is cooler than purple and gold, and more modern.
One rule: keep the outfit smooth. Satin, silk, fine wool. No more texture than the bag.
The bag is 45 × 35 × 20 centimetres. That is large for an evening bag, and that is part of its charm. It reads as relaxed. It holds a coat's worth of things when you arrive somewhere warm.
Look after it. Shake it out at the end of the night so the curls lift again. Spot clean with a barely damp cloth. Keep it away from candles, radiators and rain. Store it loosely, never squashed, so the curl holds.
At a table, set it on the chair beside you, not the floor. It is the kind of bag people want to touch, and it deserves a seat.
The night will remember the colour. It will remember the texture more.
